Regardless of whether you purchase a ready-made model or a kit, you can always "tweak" it later on. How Do Electric Boats Run?
The nice thing about electric boats is that they run on batteries, which means you don't have to worry about messy re-fueling. You can use regular AA batteries or can opt for re-chargeable batteries, thus cutting down on your costs. There have been decided improvements in the length of time a boat will run on battery power before it has to be re-charged. With the most up-to-date models unless you are racing your boat at high speeds, a set of batteries can last for most of a day. The one down side to electric remote controlled boats is that one battery low on charge can cause your model to stop responding. This can be a real problem if the boat is out of retrieval range. Keeping this in mind it is very important to always double check your battery power before you send your boat out on a long run.
